A fashionable craze in the 19th century for jewellery inspired by the painter Holbein who designed jewellery under the patronage of the King Henry VIII. The set is most unusual. The pendant brooch has old mine cut diamonds, rubies, emeralds and natural pearls with red, blue and green translucent enamel with engraved gold designs, also black and white opaque enamel. The earrings have emeralds, diamonds and pearls.
